Position Overview

Under the direction of the senior management, the Administration Assistant will provides administrative, secretarial and clerical support to others in the office to maintain an efficient office environment.

Responsibilities

S/he will provide the following services:

  1. Fielding telephone calls, scanning and faxing;
  2. Receiving and directing visitors;
  3. Coordinate messenger and courier services;
  4. Prepare outgoing mail for distribution;
  5. Type documents, reports and correspondence;
  6. Monitor incoming emails and answer or forward as required;
  7. Maintain office filing and storage systems;
  8. Update and maintain databases such as mailing lists, contact lists and client information;
  9. Co-ordinate and maintain staff administrative records;
  10. Retrieve information when requested
  11. Co-ordinate and organize appointments and meetings;
  12. Monitor and maintain office supplies;
  13. Organize travel arrangements for staff;
  14. Perform work related errands as requested such as going to the post office and bank;
  15. Ensure office equipment is properly maintained and serviced and office area is kept clean at all times;

Desired Skills and Experience

  1. A minimum of High School Diploma or equivalent. Business college training will be an advantage;
  2. Previous office experience that included work management and prioritizing experience will be an asset;
  3. Good verbal and written communication skills;
  4. Excellent organizational and planning skills;
  5. Strong word processing, spreadsheets, presentations and data entry skills;
  6. Numeracy and literacy skills;

Position Overview

Under the direction of the senior management, the Environmental Scientist will be engaged in the implementation of a variety of site assessments and remediation projects.

The successful candidate will be engaged in the analysis and interpretation of various hydrogeological data and oversee and/or conduct field projects when necessary. The main duties and responsibilities of this position are:

  1. Assist senior management to identify new project opportunities and build excellent service based relationships with our diverse clientele-base;
  2. Provide technical and project management support for a wide-range of hydrogeology programs serving the water, mining, infrastructure and development, oil and gas and the energy sectors;
  3. Plan and oversee the implementation of field hydrogeology programs such as: drilling, sampling, well design and construction; well development; aquifer and slug tests, instrumentation installation etc.;
  4. Take lead in the design and the successful implementation of projects related to:
    1. Large-scale regional and local hydrogeological and environmental assessments;
    2. Regulatory surface and groundwater monitoring programs;
  5. Analyze and interpret hydrogeological data and writing technical reports on project outcome;
  6. Manage project timelines and budgets and ensure the timely delivery of professionally written reports to our clients;
  7. Provide training to junior technical staff
  8. Travel is required for field projects and the incumbent must be prepared to undertake field assignments, mostly in western Canada.

Desired Skills and Experience

  1. A minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in either Geology, Hydrogeology or a related field with at least five years related experience in the areas of physical and contaminant hydrogeology and groundwater resources development and management;
  2. Sound field experience in land environmental site assessments and remediation-related projects;
  3. Project management experience and strong organizational skills;
  4. High level of personal integrity and a good work ethics;
  5. Good oral and written communication skills;
  6. A valid Class 5 driver’s licence; and
  7. Computer literacy

The following will be considered an asset for this position:

  1. Previous work experience within a consulting environment particularly in the oil and gas, mining and energy sectors;
  2. Ability to relate and work well within a multi-culturally sensitive and multi-disciplinary team environment;
  3. Familiarity with common groundwater and other relevant software will be a plus (eg: HydroGeo Analyst, MODFLOW, AquiferTest, AQUACHEM, ArcGIS, and ACCESS).
  4. Knowledge of geophysical methods applied to hydrogeology; and
  5. Eligible for registration with APEGA.

Position Overview

Under the direction of the senior management, the position holder will be engaged in the implementation of a variety of geoscience, environmental site assessments and remediation projects.

The position holder will be engaged in groundwater and environmental work mostly in western Canada. There may be occasional travel international for similar activities.

Responsibilities

The Environmental Technologist will be involved in the following activities:

  1. Assist geoscientists and environmental scientists in hydrogeological and environmental site investigations;
  2. Engaged in hydrogeological and environmental data compilation and interpretation;
  3. Provide required support in the development of proposals and reports;
  4. Provide database management support to include data entering, verification, manipulation, and analyzing;
  5. Provide coordination and field supervision of subcontractors;
  6. Prepare notes, sketches, geological maps and cross-section; and
  7. Engaged in other duties as may be required.

Desired Skills and Experience

  1. 0 – 3 years’ experience in the groundwater and environmental consulting industry preferably in western Canada
  2. A Bachelor of Science or Arts degree in Geology/Hydrogeology or Environmental Sciences or Technician/Technologist Diploma in a related field.
  3. Must be self-motivated and hardworking and able to successfully lead projects;
  4. Must fill comfortable working in a multi-disciplinary team environment;
  5. Comfortable with Geographic Information System data collection and interpretation;
  6. Must have high degree of proficiency and comfort with computer software. Proficiency with the following software will be very desirable: S. Office Suite, Surfer, Grapher, AQSOLVE and AquiferTest Pro
  7. Good oral and written communication skills;
  8. A valid Class 5 driver’s licence;
  9. Team player/Excellent inter-personal skills
  10. Oilfield experience will be an asset;
