Position Overview

Responsibilities
S/he will provide the following services:
- Fielding telephone calls, scanning and faxing;
- Receiving and directing visitors;
- Coordinate messenger and courier services;
- Prepare outgoing mail for distribution;
- Type documents, reports and correspondence;
- Monitor incoming emails and answer or forward as required;
- Maintain office filing and storage systems;
- Update and maintain databases such as mailing lists, contact lists and client information;
- Co-ordinate and maintain staff administrative records;
- Retrieve information when requested;

- Take lead in the design and the successful implementation of projects related to:
- Large-scale regional and local hydrogeological and environmental assessments;
- Regulatory surface and groundwater monitoring programs;
- Analyze and interpret hydrogeological data and writing technical reports on project outcome;
- Manage project timelines and budgets and ensure the timely delivery of professionally written reports to our clients;
- Provide training to junior technical staff
- Travel is required for field projects and the incumbent must be prepared to undertake field assignments, mostly in western Canada

- A minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in either Geology, Hydrogeology or a related field with at least five years related experience in the areas of physical and contaminant hydrogeology and groundwater resources development and management;
- Sound field experience in land environmental site assessments and remediation-related projects;
- Project management experience and strong organizational skills;
- High level of personal integrity and a good work ethics;
- Good oral and written communication skills;
- A valid Class 5 driver’s licence; and
- Computer literacy
The following will be considered an asset for this position:

The position holder will be engaged in groundwater and environmental work mostly in western Canada. There may be occasional travel international for similar activities.
Responsibilities
The Environmental Technologist will be involved in the following activities:
- Assist geoscientists and environmental scientists in hydrogeological and environmental site investigations;
- Engaged in hydrogeological and environmental data compilation and interpretation;
- Provide required support in the development of proposals and reports;
- Provide database management support to include data entering, verification, manipulation, and analyzing;
- Provide coordination and field supervision of subcontractors;
- Prepare notes, sketches, geological maps and cross-section; and
- Engaged in other duties as may be required.
Desired Skills and Experience

- 0 – 3 years’ experience in the groundwater and environmental consulting industry preferably in western Canada
- A Bachelor of Science or Arts degree in Geology/Hydrogeology or Environmental Sciences or Technician/Technologist Diploma in a related field.
- Must be self-motivated and hardworking and able to successfully lead projects;
- Must fill comfortable working in a multi-disciplinary team environment;
- Comfortable with Geographic Information System data collection and interpretation;
- Must have high degree of proficiency and comfort with computer software. Proficiency with the following software will be very desirable: S. Office Suite, Surfer, Grapher, AQSOLVE and AquiferTest Pro
- Good oral and written communication skills;
